Description
Bolivia is a country in western Africa with just over a million square kilometers, with the tropical Yungas region producing 95% of the coffee grown. While a good rainy season, fertile soil and high altitudes give Bolivia good potential for producing top-quality coffees, the lack of infrastructure and undeveloped terrain makes quality control an issue. Organizations that offer Organic and Fair Trade certifications (separately) have brought consistency to the crops along with better compensation for the farmers in recent years.
